Get a license from the state, and the city. Pick a very busy location with a lot of foot traffic, start cheap and raise your prices every year. Look for equipment in the papers, buy it used for a fraction of what it would cost new. Put a big sign on your place. Pick a place in a shopping center by a supermarket or in a mall.

Also make sure you have a multi station salon. Then you can get other people in there to work at those stations and get them to lease the station from you. This way you make money from each station and any POP items you may have like hair spray or shampoo.

you probly would need money first. i would probly take out a loan and find a place were you want you salon. i know the person who does my hair built onto her house so she can work at home. then you would need to buy salon equipment. the next step is advertising and getting customers to come. good luck and i hope everything works out for you .
