There is a federal bonding program that will cover you for up to $5000. if anything happens, I'd check out www.lmi.state.(your state initials).gov This website has A LOT of information. There is also the WOTC (Work Opportunity Tax Credit) which will give employers a tax break if they hire you. Check with your local One Stop in your state and the above website, in additiont to getting a resume made up highlighting your skills and abilities! Good Luck and Peace!!

Depending on the degree and severity of your record you may want to consider speaking with an attorney I've been told in the past that you can have certain things from your record expunged. How true this is I don't know. But may be worth checking into. Good luck

The other people are right. Go to your local employment office and explain your situation. They can direct you to the right companies. As far as "just get out there", bad advice. You'll have to be honest about your record, and many places will simply throw the application away. (I know that sounds mean, and I don't mean to make you feel bad. But I've seen it with my own eyes.)
Don't waste your time on a company unless you know what their policy is. Ask someone who works there, or check in with the employment office regularly.
Good luck my dear.

You just have to get out there and start applying. Depending on what your record consists of determines what you will or won't get, as well as how long it's been and if it was a felony or misdemeanor. You won't know until you try, and it's certainly a poor excuse to not to be working. People will hire you, but you're scared and that's okay. It's time to not be scared and start taking care of yourself.
