I've been taking Yasmin birth control, and started my current pack on December 31st (the Sunday during the end of my menstrual cycle). I forgot to take my pill for 3 days in a row, so I took them all on the end of the third day. I became nauseous that night, and vomitted an hour or two after taking the pills (1/4/07). I stopped taking the pill after that, because it wouldn't be effective anymore, because of the amount of pills I had missed. My period ended on January 2nd, but I just had this dark brown discharge out of no where. What is it? Could taking three birth control pills consecutively have caused my body harm?
I'm 18 years old, by the way, and have not been sexually active since September or October.

It's most likely just old blood mixed with your discharge. Nothing to be worried about. It really has nothing to do with your pills...you missing the 3 days probably tricked your body into having your mentral cycle and then when you OD'd on your BC it triggered it to stop again.

There really is no harm in taking 3 BC pills, its just a small amount of estrogen/progerstrone. I wouldn't be taking the whole pack though...it really does nothing... just be careful when becoming sexually active again...missing that amount of time could result in unplanned pregnancies

First and foremost..it's never smart to take more than 1 pill at a time. If you skip 2, take 1 when you remember it and 1 later on that day. Also make sure you have food in your stomach when you do. If you skip more than 2, you really should throw that pack away and start a new one when you are supposed to. The brown discharge is more than likely just spotting. I really don't think you caused any harm to your body...just made you sick. I learned that the hard way too. Birth control can cause spotting if you just started on it until your body gets used to it. If it gets worse though, or continues for longer than a week I would get it looked at. Hope this helps you.

You should never take more pills even if you have missed a few times, unless authorized by your doctor. I have some brown discharge following my monthly. But always to be safe check with your doctor. Maybe you have a lot of buildup in your cervix or something.

The dark brown discharge is most likely your uterus cleansing itself. However, I would go back to the Doctor and let them know what is happening.

By taking three pills at one time you have given your body too much medication. As you know now, your body rejected the medication by vomiting.

Please go back to the Dr.

It' probably just old blood. Never take more than 2 a day (one early one late) without asking a doctor.
