No, why should you feel naked or vulnerable.
A few years ago I spent two whole days studying and doing my final proyects, I was very tired and also my classmates and we had to walk a few blocks and nobody was wearing confortable shoes.
I just said: I´m taking off my shoes and socks to walk , would you like to do the same?
The ones that didn´t, regrected it at the end of the way.
After walking we just washed our feet and rest and studied again
Also if you go to ice skating they ask you to do it.
I guess if someone is not self confident or if someone is too young will feel vulnerable and naked

No... I take my socks & shoes off all the time in public! You can't try on a pair of shoes if you already have shoes on. Heck, I wouldn't mind going out in public with nothing on my feet what so ever

no but why would someone ask me to take off my socks...i understand the shoes like at the airport or shoe shopping but not the socks.

No, because I grew up in the south and we like to walk around bare foot for some reason. Besides, I don't like socks that much anyway.

no- I wouldn't feel vulnerable or naked but I would feel uncomfortable and "uncleanly" b/c my pants would drag on the floor and I'd be barefoot... also, really short 'cause I always wear heels.
