Are you different than your parents? If so, Why? Is it possible that any of those differences could be an advantage or disadvantage to your survival or your breeding ability ( such as pretty or ugly face, thin or fat, Big boobs or not....)? If it is possible, then it is only reasonable that these advantages or disadvantages can be passed to your children and so on unto the 14th generation. Simply extrapolate through time and you can see that evolution exists via selection for traits! that is fact not theory. For example look at bacteria that were susceptible to penicillin in the 1930's. At that time 99% of all bacteria were killed when penicillin was introduced. By 2000, 70% of all bacteria were resistant. Why? Because most of the susceptible ones had been killed and the resistant bacteria had been 'selected" to reproduce. Natural selection is a fact, and no other hypothesis has ever been subjected to so much scrutiny and stood the test of time as well. The examples given above prove that evolution via selection is real and are not refutable as they have already occurred
Evolution is not incompatible with belief in God, Darwin himself believed in God. Please do not practice contempt without first exploring the idea that evolution and selection are quite possible and have been shown to be real
The process of natural selection is that idea that Darwin pushed. Later on a term by Spencer, "Survival of the fittest" was associated with Darwin, even though he never coined the phrase.
I have always disagreed with the term Survival of the fittest, but rather preferred survival of the luckiest which more accurately describes the first few years of life. Fit becomes more applicable after adolescence, when mating becomes a more important idea.
Let us get a few ideas straight
1) Darwin did not believe that humans came from apes, rather he said that apes and humans had a common ancestor. Both apes and humans are primates and therefore he is by definition correct!
2) Darwin was not anti-christian, rather he was a firm believer in God and the controversy that surrounded his observations marred the remainder of his life, because of the outright contempt and deliberate misinterpretation that religious leaders had for his unexplored ideas at the time
3) Darwin described life forms that he actually observed on different islands (finches) in the Pacific Ocean and developed the ideas of isolation and evolution after noting first the different conditions and therefore different natural forces acting upon the finches that caused the need for change
4) For all of the 'Evolution is a Theory' crowd out there, consider this; a scientific theory is the result of first formulating a hypothesis (an idea), testing it under controlled circumstances repeatedly with the results being reproduced over and over and over again, after this is reproduced enough, then it is accepted as a theory! Similar Proven theories include the theory of Gravity, the theory of thermodynamic laws, and the Einstein theory of relativity! This type of theory becomes the basis of many other types of scientific ideas, in other words it becomes accepted as fact, or at least the closest description of reality that is available.
That is of course the purpose of science after all; it is to describe reality!

Here are two exmples Myrah- it all depends on how you choose to view them, as to whether or not you accept that species change over time... but both are very interesting.
The first example is the whale. Whales and dolphins are mammals, but they live in the water all their lives and do not come out on the shore like other aquatic mammals like seals.
The rest of us mammals like it dry. So one wonders how these mammals landed in the oceans, except for the fact that God put them there. And God can put them there any way He wants... either by creating them for that environment specifically, or allowing an existing land mammal to change gradually to adapt to an environment where his food is found. Interestingly, whales have little disarticulated limb bones (they serve no purpose) in their bodies that scientists believe are the vestiges of the limbs that their ancestors had. This is one example.
The second example is not something that most people would think of when they talk about Darwin, but I think of it everytime someone talks about Avian or bird flu. The reason why scientists are so scared about bird flu, is that viruses go through many generations over what to us is a short time... and they can mutate and change very rapidly. Since we already know that humans can catch bird flu (and die very easily of it), we know that all it would take to produce a pandemic (world-wide outbreak) of the disease, would be for the virus to mutate into an inhalable-contagious form that would thrive in an urban environment. The flu outbreak of 1917-18 that swept over the world was believed to have crossed species boundaries from domestic animals like pigs and birds. Most of our modern flus originate in Asia and are spread worldwide very quickly because of our speed of travel.
It is important to note that viruses and germs are not malevolent. They do not sit around and "think" up ways to kill people. They just adjust and adapt to new environments with tiny mutations as they survive. The organisms that change are few in number, but when they come in contact with a new host, in the right conditions, they multiply tremendously.

A real life example of evolution in practice is in Africa up to 60% of newborn male elephants are being born without tusks. Their environment dictates that males with large tusks have a high probability of being shot. The evolutionary response is that an increasing number male elephants don't have them.

Those finches or bird things he found on the island.
http://www.rit.edu/~rhrsbi/GalapagosPages/DarwinFinch.html
This clearly shows how the birds varied between different parts of the island and that is what basically was darwins theory.

The theroy is a theroy because it can't be proved. There are vast problems with the evoluation theory. Mainly in the fact that order come from disorder and the fact that chemical reactions would be a chemical reactions such that it could write 50 million dna sequences with out the guidence of a creator. And that event happens millions of times every day. Chemicals acids do not form anything useful on there on. They are chemicals and have no will, nor any ability to think or to direct there function or purpose of being. Thus it would be insane to declare they just came about and produced life. Because they are just chemicals and they simply react. As for dna is there was not a designer then dna would have different componets in every life form yeat it does not. It is arranged different in each life form yeat it is always the same acids in the dna, just a different sequence of programming. So if all life has the same elements being used to creat that life yeat the elements of the creation are the same one would conclude that all life is the same. Yeat that is not the cast as the acids are actually a program for the building of different life froms. As a result we have millions of life forms from a base of 4 acids. Not only does the math atest to creation by a creator. The programming alone points to his wisdom. I program computers and i will tell you that did not just happen. Elements always react the same with other elements. Due to the makeup of the elements themself. So dna should always make the same
thing when you use the same elements. Does not happen in fact. My dna and a apes dna have the same common base acids but different programming. And that is the key to understanding evoluation and the failure of it. When acids behave in this way it can only point to one thing, a creator who has defined the limits of the acids and there function and the life they will bring forth life in its likeness as it si programmed to. We have thousands of years and see no jump in species, There can be no transition from one species to another species if the elements of the dna are forever locked preprogramed geometric engineered dna structure that is self replicating and here lies the reason no evoluation happens in life.
Many may take the stand point that well over millions of years it could happen. The problem herein is that we do have a million years of evidence to prove it took place. As all genes studies to date contain the whole gene histroy and that history bears the friut of a gene sequence from conception untill it is extinction of the animals then it is concluded that no evolvation has or can take place due to the fact that to jump from one species to another would require a billion to one gene swap. In other words for a ape to let say grow a human ear it would take a billion years because a geen splice would have to take place. It take science dudes years to do that in a office with miscroscopes and educations but they are claimng nature did it all on her own. Lets get real here folks you can lead a biologist to the dance be he can't cut a rug.
In the case of Darwins finchs what you see is adaptation not evolation. As with all living creatures they can adapt to a degree to the enviorment they are in. We as humans do the same as do plants. Yeat this is not genetic not evolvation.

There's a book called Darwin's Finches. I don't recall who the author was, but it documented how finches changed, or evolved as the climate changed.

Evolution has occurred within a species frequently. There is however no examples of one species evolving into another completely different species that I am familiar with.
