1) a = 9. I don't know of any way of solving this other than trial and error. There is no "inverse factorial" function. If someone knows a better way, give them best answer.

b) 4 cm x 5 cm x 24 cm = 480 cm³

It seems logical that the inverse of the factorial function, '!', should be '?'.
Then you would have meaningful identities like:

9! = 362880

362880? = 9

9?! = 9

362880?!?!?? = 9

3! = 6 = 720?

1! = 1? = 1?!??!?!!?

It would really clear up mathematics, especially for the novice.

v of rectunglar prism=length x width x height
=4cm x 5cm x 24cm
= 5cm x 96cm
= 480cm^3
