In WWII the media was on our side. Now they belong to whom ever the president is Not on the side of! Sounds like treason to me! Report deaths once a month publically like in 1943. The Families knew right away but it was not plastered all over the papers until a month later. Even then it showed his honorable enslitment picture, not his headless corpse being dragged through the strrets! Whose side are you people on? I'll vote for whom ever I want to but not because of THIS crap! Sadly, there are enough less educated people that look at this and side with the enemy. Hopefully, the new govt will get your heads straight! We EAT because of oil! We HAVE to keep order there or take the place over!

While I don't think the media should be censored, I think the public really should question their motives a little better.

Here's a piece from Thomas Sowell:
"The very people who have been anti-military for years, who filter out American heroes in battle, are now proclaiming that they are 'honoring' our troops by publicizing every death by name, day in and day out.

Has the dumbed-down education in our schools left us so ill-equipped that we cannot see through even the most blatant hypocrisy?"

i think the media should not give a daily body count of our fallen soldiers. i listen to a lot of talk radio, mostly conservative talk and i used to listen to Allen Combs when he was on so i could hear the other side of the coin (sorta speak) but the one thing he did i found completely appalling was every Mon. night he would read the names of the soldiers who were killed that week, the way he read the list made them sound like they were sweepstakes winners. i had to turn it off till he was done.
i agree with your thought about giving and count once a month but the media needs to give a count on the number of insurgents (terrorist) we killed also
