Trying pressing "0" rightaway. Always ask to speak to a "real" customer rep and remember to tell the rep you would like the company to know that you appreciate real humans answering the phone. Most companies tape your calls, so they are listening.

unfortunately, there is no way around this.
Friday night, i was driving home behind a drunk driver. this guy was being an a**hole, tailgating, swerving, etc. so i grabbed my cell phone and tried to call the police. i had to dial 411 first, that took way too long. then they connected me to the local police dept. well i got a little lost trying to drive and press 1 for English and 2 if it's not an emergency, etc. i accidentally hit the "end" button on my cell phone, then the ba*tard got off the road, so i gave up.

Does anyone like them? I don't know how to get around them, sometimes you can punch 0 and get a real person, but usually that if after you've heard a bunch of babble to get that far. The ones I truly hate are recordings when you answer your phone, I hang up immediately.

Yes it takes forever to get the answer that you want and one wrong press of a button makes you have to start all over again.

Yes I hate those things. It told me to press 2 to do this and when I did it started back at the beginning again . I was so ticked off with them. Why tell me to press 2 when your sending me back to the beginning if I do it.

Some systems will redirect you to a person if you press 0, or 00, or #, ##.
Voice activated ones sometimes will do it if you start cursing like mad.

How frustrating and they say it is to improve customer service, yeah right!! - Just keep pressing all the buttons until you get an operator, it works for me.
