No, it's not normal. When it's right, there will be no room for freaking out because you'll be too happy. Maybe you two should wait a couple of years.

Getting engaged does not mean you have to get married, I know alot of people who were married at 20. If you want to get engaged then go through with it. You can always stay engaged for a few years until you are ready to get married. If you dont want to get engaged wait a little time.

It is normal to have a little wedding nervousness, but no, "freaking out" isn't normal. Perhaps you both got caught up in engagement excitement, and now that it's getting closer, marriage reality is setting in. One of you needs to speak up before a big mistake takes place. No one would blame either one of you I assure you!

Ok this kinda sounds dumb to me....your getting engaged this summer, and you already know this, but your freaking out even before he "officially" does. If you know that your getting engaged, than that means that your answer is yes. So whats to freak out about, maybe you really dont want to marry him? And he probably is freaking out cause he has not money for a ring? So its ok for him to freak out(if thats the reason). But, you? I dunno, i think your confused, more than me with your question you posted.

Sounds to me that you are putting pressure on him for this engagement. Let it go till the both of you are ready and the time is right.

Who plans an engagement anyway? Tell him you don't want to be engaged until he is ready. Then tell him to surprise you and you'll surprise him. You plan a wedding, not a committment for a wedding. That just happens.

It's normal to be nervous. We all have anxiety. It's a huge thing to get engaged. Just try to talk to him and get a reason why he's nervous. If there's no reason then you're fine, but if there is a reason, that's usually a bad thing.

sounds like you guys arent ready to get engaged and arent ready to be fully committed to each other, when you are ready to be engaged there will be no questioning why or being scared about it as it comes near.....
