I live in Colorado and a couple of weeks ago, the police raided some meat packing plants here and in a couple other states. Thousands of illegal immigrants were arrested and sent back to Mexico. And I am totally for it. I'm white and a legal citizen of the USA with parents who are productive members of society. I get so sick of dealing with people who can't speak English spounging off of our government when they aren't even legal. The problem is, the kids that were born in the US and are legally citizens here who's parents were taken away in the raids. Part of me really wants to feel sorry for them because they are now completely alone here, but the other part is still pissed at their parents. Why can't our government try to improve conditions in Mexico so that we don't have as big of problem of illegals coming here looking for a better life? Any thoughts?

First let me say that I am not a racist and do not hate any certain race or group of people.

The U.S. needs to modify the citizenship regulations so that if a child is born on U.S. soil, it is not automaticly a U.S. Citizen. The parents of the child must be a citizen in order for the child to be a citizen. That would reduce the amount of pregnant women coming over the southern border from all countries south of our border, not just Mexico, so their child will be a U.S. Citizen.

Secondly, Mexico and all of the other southern countries need to fix the governments in their country. Most of the governments are more corupt than the United States is and that is one of the main factors in keeping the general population from improving their status and getting out of the poor house.

Third, NAFTA needs to be repealed. Foreign aid needs to be halted until the countries receiving it can prove that the citizens of the country are benefiting from all reforms in their country and the general population is not living in the poor house. It doesn't do any good to provide $100 million dollars to a country in economic aid if the money is going to a corupt politician who pockets the money and says that he is aiding companies (probably his own).

Fourth, every country needs to take care of it's own people. I heard the President of Mexico say on the news that we should take the money that we are going to spend on the 700 mile wall and give it to Mexico so they can educate some of their people. That is a bunch of crap. Mexico is a rich nation that if they would look in to where their money goes, they would see that they have more than enough to pay for education for their country.

This is just a tip of the iceburg. There are millions of programs that could be started in every country, not just those south of the border, that would bring countries out of the poor house and bring them at least into the 20th century. We just need to get the corupt politicians out of the way in their country and in the United States in order for them to work. The U.S. doesn't owe anybody money because we are better supposedly off then them and it isn't our job to reform their country to improve the conditions for their people. It is the job of the people in their country to reform their government and remove the corupt politicians.

When the Tsunami hit the Indian Ocean area's, within hours after the waves hit, the people were going through the ruble and debris looking for survivors. Within days, the people were cleaning up their cities and rebuilding as best as they could so they could carry on with life and start new. I didn't see that after Katrina down in New Orleans.

One last thing, I lived in California most of my life and now live in Arizona, so I do see the amount of Illegal immigrants here and do feel sorry that their country is so screwed up that they have to break laws and risk their lives to come here and try and make a living for their family. But i think that they should also take a stand in their own country and try reforming it and making it better. I understand that some people pay $2,000 in order to come to the U.S. That $2k would be better spent in their country, instead of some jerk that will dump them in the middle of the desert and tell them good luck, the border is that way.

Our government has tried to improve conditions in Mexico. So have our business and community leaders. The Mexican government is the reason things are so bad there. Corruption is rampant from the lowest officer to the crooked elections for president. The money, food, medicine, and educations we have supplied have all been stolen, or used to keep thier system in shambles. In fact Mexico has more billionaires than anywhere in the world apart from us. These riches were mostly made from American money. Now with one fifth of Mexico's Population here, and the most able bodied of them at that, there is little hope for change in thier own land. It will take somthing drastic to see turnaround there, with US help or not.

The children: leaving them behind is their parents choice (so feeling sorry for the kids and mad at the parents makes a ton of sense). The children are also Mexican citizens.

Our government does improve the quality of life in Mexico by having bad fiscal policies which encourage US corporations to outsource their factory work to Mexico.
The US government can't do much to reduce the corruption of the Mexican government or their education budgets (or other priorities that the Mexican government has).

Good luck finding a real solution to the world's problems!

This all a carefully crafted plan by all the legal dogs in the white house to set up this amnesty thing so millions will be free to stay and be rewarded for being illegally here... so it's all a mood point anyway it's not what the people want any more... why do we even vote for politicians?... it's not like they represent us any more!

criminal immigration is the technique the position human beings attempting to enter the U. S. keep on with immigration regulations and note for visas, etc. to enter the country. unlawful immigration takes position at the same time as human beings sneak in like thieves interior the evening, as in chinese welded into the metallic holds of container ships that run aground on lengthy island and Mexicans sneaking for the time of the southern border with out regard to the regulation. And solid grief, birds do not immigrate, they migrate, that's travelling with the seasons. Mexicans would accordingly be more desirable right referred to as unlawful migrants.
