Why did she marry this man? She loved him, right. Was she a stay at home mom? If she was, then that's great. Putting him in a caring home isn't the worse thing that can happen. She and the children can still go and visit. But the divorce I would think about really hard. If she decides to divorce I hope that she would continue to take the kids to see their dad. Tell your friend best of luck in this awful situation. God bless her and the kids.

I can understand her putting him in a home for someone to take care of him since she will have to go to work to care for her children....But i don,t think she should just jump into a divorce ..she owes it to him to take care of him while he is in the home...like visits and let the children see him.....If he should continue in this state. and by some chance she might somewhere down the line meet someone then she might consider a divorce ,but she shouldn,t like go out looking ,it may never happen that she does meet someone..... if she does meet someone she should still go visit and do all she can for him until the very end.she owes it to him...and if he understands anything maybe she shouldnt do anything....

I was married by a JOP. Marriage by a JOP is STILL a legal marriage and it is STILL a contract. The vows for a marriage by JOP are no different than any other marriage except for the relgious references IF the couple want them omitted. There is STILL For better, for worse, for richer, for poorer. Take note of the FOR WORSE. That's WHY.

See thats what is wrong with people today.Ummm hello vows, promises.I guess that is not important anymore, because now she has to take care of him.I could not imagine leaving my husband when he needed me more than anything. She sounds like a very selfish, selfcentered person, and its a good thing he is not in his right mind so he wont see what empty vowels his wife spoke to him.

I fully agree with out. If the man's brain damage is so severe, to wear he cannot communicate or show emotion or anything, it is as bad as if he was dead. She does have the right to live. She should be able to move on and love someone who can love her back.

She loves him, so shes going to stick it out. Yeah she was married at the Justice of Pease that does not make her being married any less easy to get out of then being married in a church. She is doing the right thing.

Sorry, but I would NEVER leave my husband at a time when he needs me most. I would be there until the last day. And I know that he would do the same for me.
