My mother wants to know when should my 2 1/2 month old sister start sleeping on her stomach instead of back.

about 6 months. don't get me wrong, babies love to sleep on their bellies, but they could die from SIDS. they suffocate, breathing in their own carbon dioxide, because they r too young to turn their heads. it has to be an age when they turn on their own and can roll over

It is best for the baby to sleep on her back until she can roll over on her own!

She should ALWAYS be put down on her back. When she can turn herself over onto her tummy then she is fine to sleep that way, but even then it's best to put her on her back and let her get comfortable.

when she can roll over on her own...you will find her on her belly occassionally...ours was around 4months old.
