I'm 23 weeks pregnant and I just had an ultrasound. The doctor couldn't tell the sex, but she said she is sure its a girl. How can I tell on my own what it is? She moves around a lot and I can't really tell if my belly is high or low.

4D ultrasound see the baby's features and find out the sex!

You really can't tell except via the ultrasound, if the doctor says it's a girl it most likely is, the ultrasounds are very accurate but the doctors don't like to give absolutes as if they are wrong people just love to sue.

How you carry it doesn't matter...I don't care what anyone tells you. I have 2 girls, and I carried one high and one low. My mom did the same thing. There isn't any way to really tell from your body!!! Did you get an ultrasound movie? If so, you can go back and look at it, and try to see for yourself. Little girls usually have 3 little lines in between their legs...my second one looked like a horseshoe with a line in the middle of it. Good Luck.

Congratulations! The only way to tell for sure is amniocentesis or cvs (tests of the amniotic fluid). Ultrasound is usually accurate but no guarantee. The way you are carrying is determined by your shape not by the sex of the baby. There are no other factors by which to figure out the sex of the baby, and don't believe anyone who tells you otherwise, that's all just 'old wives tales'.

Your options are to have another ultrasound, have an amnio, or wait until the birth. Before painting anything pink, I'd question the doctor again about how she's sure its a girl if she couldn't see the sex. Girls are harder to identify than boys--if she couldn't see the 3 little hamburger lines, how could she be "sure"?

Movement and a high or low position does not determine sex of fetus, those are merely old wives tales. you may be able to find out on your next ultrasound or have a 3D or 4D scan.

Those are all wives tales. You can do the draino Test. I guess you put some draino in a cup and then add your urine in it and if it turns to a different color then its a boy/girl. Then again this is a wives tale and not all are true/accurate.

Old wives tales. Have some creepy old woman tell you. They're more accurate than judging by size, movement, amount of morning sickness, placement, hormonal imbalance, heartrate, etc.

when the doctors show you a gram of the baby in your stomach or when it pops out and you look at it's private part.
