I'm stuck on a part of my essay about themes of love in Shakespeare Romeo and Juliet. Well thank for your time.

Verona has been the place were a family 'war' has been taking place. the aristocary is killing themselves left and right in hot headed duels, adn each leading member of the family will do anything to keep the families apart. Friar Lawrence wants peace. it says in teh bible a house divided will not stand. the ruling 'house' was split and didn't seem like it wanted to come back together. He saw the marriage of Romeo and Juliet as a chance, not only to stop the blood from flowing from both houses, but to bring them together as one governing group. Because even though the play focuses more on teh aristorcay, think about how the people of verona felt about the feuds, and how if they supported one house and worked for the other, they could be thrown in prison, or their markets would get thrashed. so it was for the good of the people.
that is the way I see it. Becuase he wanted peace, and saw a house divided, he wanted to help bring that house together, and romeo and juliet gave him the chance to do what he may consider 'God's will' and the want for peace.

Good luck with your essay.

I imagine frair lawrence shows his love for Romeo and Juliet and verona, by marrying the couple despite the fact that they are two heavily feuding families (they must be since the prince himself demands they stop disturbing the quiet of the streets) and he could put himself in danger for marrying them, but may also save the city of Verona from the angry feuds.

He doesn't, if you read the play correctly you will realise that it is becouse of Friar Lawrence Romeo and Juliet end up dead! He gives Juliet the potion instead of encouraging her to confess and maybe save Romeo! And I am not sure that he thought of God or the Bible when he "helped" them becouse potions where only made in The Old Ways, so in order to make that potions he uses "black magic" as it is called in catholicism! Not really an exemplary friar when you practice The Old Ways!

i dont relatively think of he replaced right into a villian we wrote an essay at school on who're the foremost human beings the casued the priority Friar laurence replaced into one in all them yet i think of capulet replaced into extra of a villian reason he certainly began the party and while tybalt informed him that romeo replaced into there he didnt do something approximately it. If Romeo replaced into not there he wouldnt have met her and each thing could have been ok. Friar lawerence replaced into helping out and he gave juliet that vial simply by fact she got here to him and saidshe will commit suicide so he relatively needed to help her and so she could be with romeo. wish this helped

- Story of stupid monarchy
- Disturbed city Verona facing war
- Family feud keeps the members away
- Friar Lawrence sees a political chance for him here
- Could say he had a soft corner for Romeo
- Changes his mind away from monarchy
- Helps them to die in piece

Cheers

He married them. That means he united them for eternity.
And there is nothing about his spiritual love for Verona.
