Need for Cheerleaders?
Easy - MLS still sucks.
I live in the USA and I don't watch it, except as a last resort. I watch EPL, La Liga, Italian Series A, and Mexican Apurtura all before MLS. MLS has some good players, but tactically the league has a long way to go.

same reason they have cheerleaders at every other sport... so in case the game is going badly, the guy fans have something else to watch.

i didn't know they had cheerleaders at soccer games, but it's probably the only thing that keeps people awake at that snorefest of a sport.
