Explain how momentum might be used to determine the point where an aircraft exploded or a collision between aircraft occurred.

Please help me with this question.
I'm having trouble understanding it.

well when two airplanes collide, there will either be an inelastic or elastic collision

inelastic = if both planes are traveling at relativly the same speed and just hit each other and drop ( you can look up the equation)

elastic = if one plane is going faster than the other and when they collide they are still traveling together. Think of it as two peices of bubble gum
