Definitely shot, burning to death sounds to horrible.

In order of preference:
Die of smoke inhalation while asleep
Get shot dead instantly
Get shot and die within a minute or less
Die of smoke inhalation before the fire gets too close

I would die what ever way I am supposed to die but if I had to choose it would be getting shot b/c then I might have a chance of coming back to my family.

The assumption of a quick death leads most to choose getting shot but if it were say a gut shot compared to say a sudden ball of flame like at the bottom of the space shuttle well THEN I would still take the shot so I could donate my body to like you know science.

Get shot, I knew somebody who was in a fire, so just thinking about fire, makes me feel a little depressed. They didn't actually burn to death, but they had bad asthma and suffocated. I'm not using sympathy to get a best answer, if thats what anyone thinks.
