Depends on the location... In the mountain areas, Some areas closed down with the threat of a good snow 1-2 inches... In the valley, some require, like my town, at least 2 inches or more and other contitions before it does. But it also depends on where the kids are going to school and how big of a district they shuttle the kids from... All those factors and to keep the kids safe...

Depends on where you live, and on how well your town/city is prepared to deal with winter weather! Way, way back in a prior century when I was growing up in Houston, we had a light snow flurry one night, barely enough to cover the ground but the school district declared a snow day because it was the first time there had been snow there in 13 years!
