My catfish has been swimming sideways, upside down and bumping into things. The water qulity is good, he (it) lays on its dies and I do not think he is eating much. I would appreciate any ideas. I have have antibotics and looked at fish help guides with little sucess? Please help.

the person above me is correct. catfish have the 2nd largest ganre in the world. you have to be careful medicating any catfish because they dont have scales. read the pacage carefully before using anything. if you just got the fish it could be an upside-down catfish and thats normal behavior. i have one that doesnt move or eat much and hes a year old. any other kind of catfish might be a problem. it doesnt sound like any disease i know of. if hes bloated it might be internal parasites. also, most catfish are noctornal, so if your lights are on all the time he might just be going crazy... ive never had it affect my catfish much, but ive heard of that bein a major problem with some sensative species

"catfish" is a very general term. If all you say is catfish, then your fish could be 1 of thousands of different kinds of fish.
I can not help until you tell what kind of catfish you have.
Also, it is in brackishwater, freshwater, or saltwater?

yes, take the catfish, gut and dress him, put him on the fryer and have yourself a little fried catfish, hushpuppies go great with them...mmmmmm
