I never heard of an external audio card, and dont know why anyone would want it external.
But if you have a empty PCI slot you can install a Sound Blaster.

There are external soundcards that plugs through USB port (heck, those USB headphones are about the same thing). However, they use up a LOT of USB bandwidth. Creative makes Audigy Portable, I think.

But the better question is what do you need it for, and what's wrong with the built-in solution?

And please don't say "Dell 9300". Dell makes desktops AND notebooks AND laptops and more. Mention a specific model LINE please. Latitude 9300 perhaps?
