If you mean books in which one of more of the characters is a homosexual, "Yes." If you mean books in which explicit sexual acts are described, then "No." But then again I wouldn't expect the school to be assigning books in which explicit heterosexual sex was being described either.

I assume we are talking about elementary school age children here.

Schools should be allowed to have books in which different types of families are displayed. I think it would be just the same as having books that has parents of different races. These families do exist, and by not allowing a certain book into the school setting, you are telling those kids that their family is not acceptable. Some teachers also keep those types of books in their private collection, because it is possible that some of their students have two parents of the same sex and may have questions. More often, the teacher will send the book home with the child.

I dont think schools should have the job of limiting its students ability to read on any level. I once had a friend whos teacher took away a book from him because it was to advanced for his reading level thus he couldnt actualy be reading it... Teachers like this do our country the greatest disfavor imo. I really cant understand why parents are able to let there children get there education from schools first rather then from home. But I have seen almost no parents that I know of take an active role in education of there children. I guess its kinda hard to do when you dont have a good education yourself and were just force fed stats instead of learning how to learn instead.

It depends on the age. Very young children should not be reading books about sexuality period. Older children should be educated about the subject as long as it is presented clinically & not politically.

It would depend at what age, it sure is a fact that they will run into homosexuality in their life, maybe there wouldn't be so much automatic hate if people knew what they were talking about.

You mean, like the Bible? That deals with homosexuality....

But I think you meant books which refer to homosexuality without disapproving of it. Well, of course.

Depends on the grade level. Seniors in high school are better equipped to handle that sort of material than a third grader, for instance.

No, unless they want to have proportional time dedictated to heterosexuals.

No. I don't believe it is the role of schools to expose our children to gross and abominable sin.
