I was due for my Depo Provera shot in October 06, didn't go to the doc to get the injection, and had been on it for four years. There weren't any noticeable side effects during the time. I want to know when I should expect my period to start???? Nothing as of yet......anyone have experience???

I got my period 3 weeks after stopping the shot, but everyone is different, and it affects other women differently. I have heard of it taking 6 months for some womens cycle to return.

I was on depo for about 2 years...went off it due to the whole bone marrow scare.

When i went off it i didn't get my period for a good 3 to 4 months. You're body just gets used to not having it...plus there is probably still hormone ragin through it.

I didn't get any side effects too..but i didn't get any from the birth control, im one of the lucky few.

I only took the depo shot twice before...after the second one I stopped because my husband and I wanted a baby. It took about 5 months for me to finally get my first period afterwards and a total of 11 months to finally conceive!

Hi. This depends on how long you have been using it. However, the usual range of time is between 3-6 months. You might get bits of iregular spotting though. Do use other forms of contraception during this time. Hope this bit of information helps allay your fears.

I also only had it twice because of side effects and my periods took months to return but it can take as long as 12 months before you'd be able to conceive after you stop taking it.

I'm a female under my friend name...It might take a while cause I have been on it since I was 16 and now I'm 22 and I never really got my period when I was on it so just be patient and your body will go back to normal soon... AND GOOD LUCK

I had more problems with depo than I had with any other b.c.. It took over 6 months for my cycle to reappear, but it will depend on the individual.
