the purely low-priced answer shown to paintings (and nicely) is Brasso. you could purchase it almost any ironmongery save and it is like 5 greenbacks for a huge can. obviously you won't be able to "fix" holes yet a polisher like Brasso or Applesauce scratch remover will also each and everything out (not a filler). extraordinarily if it is minor, it's going to look sparkling after.
