27.3 days - the same amount of time that it takes the Moon to orbit once around the Earth. The fact that the Moon rotates exactly once in the same time it takes to orbit once is why we always see the same side of the Moon. This type of situation is called "tidally locked."
It takes the Moon a little longer to completely go through its phases because the Earth is also oribiting the Sun, and the Moon has to go further to have the same angle between it, the Sun, and the Earth. (which is what determines the phase) This period is the synodic period in the first source listed below.
