I have tried everything i can think of. but the smell will keep coming back

Clean the sole area (where you feet sit ) of the shoes

Get the over the counter topical med ( oil, not spray ) for the athelets foot. I forget the name but it'll kill it on your foot AND rub it into the sandle to kill it there. The odors from the fungus, not a natural by-product of your foot !
I had a nasty case of athletes foot when working construction years ago, constantly sweating and on my feet all day, yuck! My boss sugjested it ( forget the brand name ). It did the job and yup, I put the stuff in my shoes too !

Get new sandals. The bacteria on your feet will keep them smelling no matter what. It looks nerdy, but if you do get new sandals wear socks.

throw them away and take a shower while in the shower urinate on your feet to kill bacteria. "no kiddin" great cure for athletes foot also. then buy a new pair of sandals

Leather is a skin which is pour-us so you must soak in order to kill the Bactria. If alcohol does not work try Clorox.
