In addition to what's already been said, he was also in two of Alfred Hitchcock's movies, Saboteur, and Spellbound. Hitchcock made Lloyd an associate producer and a director on the television series Alfred Hitchcock Presents in 1957. He made numerous guest appearances on TV shows of the 80's and 90's.

Pretty well known. He was the headmaster in "Dead Poet's Society" and was also Dr. Aushlander on "St. Elsewhere" back in the 1980's.

I didn't recognise the name either. But after checking him out, I see he was in Dead Poets Society and FM, 2 movies I really like. Has he died or something? I assume he has since you said 'was' but is he?
