Is the U.S. military in Iraq just to feel better about themselves by comparison to the living conditions there

omg. i cannot believe you would say such a thing like that. seriously. the us military is over there for a few reasons, but not to brag about what the americans have. you have no idea what the hell you're talking about - the us military is in iraq to make themselves feel better about themselves? try joining the military and see what is truly going on. our soldiers are over there risking THEIR lives for the future of this world!!

now understand something here - these soldiers who are over there right now are there for a specific reason - it's their DUTY to serve the united states. can they honestly help what the **** the president says? no. it's not to say they don't have the power to get out of the military if they feel it's wrong what they are doing, but the majority is there to make sure this world is a safe place to raise their family.

instead of reading into what the **** the media, the president or magazines are saying about what the us military is doing - perhaps you should talk to a soldier over there to get some information. my husband, as well as all of my friends are currently serving in iraq - FOR OUR PROTECTION. they are getting shot at because they are doing their job. one of my friends got wounded in the process by some rogue iraqis.

i understand that the living conditions are bad there - i've seen true pictures from many locations that my friends and husband have sent me. is it wrong for us to help educate people there and help them make a start for a good healthy living? is it wrong to help people? no. it is not.

what we have here in the us has been built by working hard at it. as an american, i am proud that we have what we have because of the hard work earned in making it happen.

just to make a clear note: the us military has no choice in what the media, magazines or the president says. they are not there to make themselves feel better as americans because we live well. they are there to do their duty - to protect, to capture enemies, and to help those in need.

educate yourself before you ever diss the us military again.

You left out the part about better Medivac Helicopters, better Triage Operating Theaters, better Rehabilitation services, better Veterans Affairs Administration and better Full Dress Ceremony Funerals at Arlington National Cemetery.
Yes, of course they are over there just so as to promote the American Way of Life. Freedom and other such old fashioned ideals are strictly for someone else to worry about, aren't they? Give Your brain a chance. Stop and think before You ask stupid questions!
