There's Carnegie Science Center (they have a GREAT, large, kid-friendly/hands on area and an omnimax as well as an authentic submarine that's actually IN the water that you can tour)
There's the Art Meuseum--they have a great kids section there as well.
The National Aviary and The Pittsburgh Zoo are open year round. If you go to Station Square, you can take a tour on one of the boats from the Gateway Clipper Fleet, they even have packages.
Each one of these places have their own web sites, just do a quick search it'll lead you right to them.
Pull up the Pittsburgh Web Site and they'll provide a larger list. There are a LOT of things to do thats great for kids in Pittsburgh!

I live in Florida now, but I grew up in Pittsburgh. Kinda cold now, but there is or was a big city zoo there. Also an aviary. Been a long time ago, so I don't know what is there now. Check those out, if they are still there, it'll be worth the time. Do a search on Pittsburgh, Pa. Chamber of Commerce, visit it online and check out tourist attractions. Hope this helps you out.
