Not positive but I got 20.25 ft by doing the following
(To have a visual, if you need one...otherwise skip to step 5):
1.Draw a flagpole. Label its height as x (unknown)
2.Draw its shadow. Label its length as 27
3.Draw a person. Label its height as 6
4.Draw its shadow. Label its length as 8
5.Now, make a fraction comparing the flagpole and the person. Height of flagpole over length of flagpole shadow = height of person over length of person's shadow.
x = 6
-- --
27 8
(that's, x over 27 = 6 over 8)
Now, just cross mutliply 27*6 to get 162 and divide 162 by 8 to get x=20.25

It is 20.25 ft. tall because 6/8 = x/27 and if you cross multiply you get 6*27 = 8x, which is 162 = 8x, then you divide by 8 and you get x = 20.25ft.

6```````X
--- = ----
8```````27
6 times 27 = 162
162 divided by 8 = X
X = 20.25
(First person after me with 20.25 should get best annswer)
