One technique I use as a songwriter is word association. Get the band together in a circle, and state the first word that comes into your mind from the previous person's answer. It might not give you lyrics like Bob Dylan, but it might give you an interesting idea for a new route to take.

So you might take a route like:
"Dynamite."
"Explode."
"Bomb."
"Shell."
"Shock."

Just something to get the creative juices flowing in a brainstorm. There are are plenty of inspirational methods, but none of them will work if you force them.

you are an asshole. First of all, you are asking for people to write you lyrics for a punk band. I write/sing/bass for a punk band and the lyrics have got to be the easiest part. That right there is enough to make me hate you, but the fact that you named the song before writting lyrics is just awful. you are a disgrace to all things music and i really hope you guys quit right now.

I'm not going to supply you lyrics for your own band but i will attempt to inspire you.

Think about the purpose of what your song is trying to tell people

Write a poem that the purpose of your song is about

Feel the instrumental and let the words just flow, write them down, then revise.

Listen to a band that influenced you to be in a band

Good lyrics come from the heart and are projected through voice in your own individual style.

only you can write the songs that your band plays, otherwise, it won't have as much feeling and it just won't seem right

just rust me on this one, write your own lyrics and the song will turn out better

pay attention, there will be an excellent sort of Anberlin under. prominent lyrics (from the feel good Drag -- Anberlin): "You have been my maximum excellent mistake I fell in love with your sin Your littlest sin replaced into this over till now till now it ever began Your kiss Your calls Your crutch like the devils have been given your hand This replaced into over till now till now it ever began Your lips Your lies Your lust like the devils on your palms" Least prominent lyrics (from there's a mild That on no account is going Out -- Anberlin): "And if a double-decker bus If it crashes into us To die with tips from your area Is one among these heavenly thank you to die Ten-ton truck Kills the the two one human beings To die with tips from your area properly, the exhilaration - the privilege is mine" determining on the least prominent replaced into so confusing. Technically that music is a hide, yet they are relatively very creepy lyrics, that's what made me pick them. BQ: (*Fin) -- Anberlin BQ2: on no account Take Friendship very own -- Anberlin

...Er, I think I'm missing something. You can't write them yourself because... why? You can't be a band if people on Y!Answers are supplying all your lyrics. I mean, come on.
