Wicked is about how the two witches of Oz know each other. The musical is entirely different, and lighter, than the book. In the musical, the two witches are forced to be roommates at school. They initially hate each other, but grow to become best friends. They go to meet the Wizard, but they find out he's not who they thought he was. Elphaba (the Wicked Witch) turns against the wizard because of what he's doing to Animals.
The second act is about what the girls become - Galinda becomes Glinda the good and Elphie the "Wicked" witch. There's a sub plot about them liking the same guy and about who he ends up choosing, but I won't give that away. AND you find out why Elphaba is so powerful.
The plot kinda sounds dumb just reading it (I thought so, too at first), but it is really a magical experience. I would recommed it for anyone! The story is about these two women growing up and the real depths of their friendship.

Wicked is the "prequel" to the Wizard of Oz. It is the story of the witches when they were young... how they were as young girls, their friendship and desires and how they got to be the witches depicted in The Wizard of Oz. A lot happened before Dorothy dropped in. It is loosely based on the book, Wicked the untold story of the wicked witch of the west by Gregory McGuire.
It tells the story of Elphaba, the wicked witch of the west, and Glinda, the good. You learn how Elphaba wasn't really evil, just different.

well you have to read the book first, which was very good by the way. the plot is about the "wicked witch" of the west in the old time movie wizard of oz. it's slightly like a time line of her life and what really happened. I also saw the show and they changed a few parts but it was excellent! i suggest you read the book first because the play doesnt show everything, even if it is really good!

it shows the life of the two withes from the wizard of oz before, dring, and after the play. It shows how the wicked witch of the west became bad. (all she was, was misunderstood) its a really good play u should see it.

I really have not in any respect considered a educate on Broadway however both musicals i love today (from the song) are Marry Poppins, and wicked the song in both one among those shows are spectacular. have exciting in NYC!
