The answer is Sanforized and the process is called Sanforization. It's trademarked. The process was developed in 1933 by Sanford Cluett and was designed to prevent cloth from shrinkage during garment construction and washing. A Sanforized garment can only shrink by about 2% or less. An interesting bit of trivia is that the company that was launched by Cluett eventually became Arrow shirts.
