You can certianly apply. If they take you or not may be another matter, but you can certianly apply.

I went to a B-/C+ State University, and they had a large program that was basicly for remedial education, helping folks that had gotten into College, but still had some catching up to do in some subjects from High School. This strongly implies that they were taking people who had gaps in their High School Educations, and it is likely that they were taking GED diplomas too. I mean a GED shows that you passed the test and actually KNOW something, sadly this is not always true of High School graduates. (Nobody ever got a GED because they were a star quarterback or really good at baskeball.)

Harvard won't take you, but there are several 4 year state schools that might. I'd call their admissions offices to see what they say. I'd also call to see what sort of loans, scholarships, and grants they might have.

Good Luck!

Hey there. Some universities will accept the GED by itself and others will require you to have taken the ACT and/or SAT as well.

Your best bet, my friend, is to get the admission requirements for the school or schools of your choice and find out what you need to get in.

Also..I have to say to the person who said the GED isn't a diploma you are wrong. GED = General Education Diploma.

Good luck to you.

GED is not a degree, it's a certification.

You are going to have to do SAT or ACT testing before applying to college or university. You may have to take remedial work if your testing is not high enough.

Universities have higher standards, and you are likely going to need to do some community college work depending on your SAT unless you ace it.

Yes you can but first you must take the SAT, which is required to get into any college or university. You can buy SAT materials from any bookstore or you can look online for helpful information. Good Luck.
