I thought they were mythical figures, but I see it here on these boards. What does it mean? Anyone?

Amongst other descriptions, a troll can be a user who 'stalks' your Q/A, so to speak . And then, when finally prepared, 'falsely reports' you in order to SQUELCH YOUR OPINION !!!

First, think about what a troll looks & acts like.....that's the definition.
-On YA it means those creepy people that ask creepy questions..then report or violate you if u answer back smartly. They "troll" the message boards looking for ways to annoy others then sneak away like they had nothing to do with things...
-In life, if someone calls u a troll, it means u r most ugly!! It's not good at all to be called a "troll". It means poor posture, bad skin, odd behavior, just ugly inside and out !

a troll is a real person...
i know a little evil troll named kathy. she is very mean and miserable. kathy hates herself so she takes it out on others. kathy thinks she feels better when she inflicts pain...but in reality it creates more pain because kathy knows she is wrong and hates herself more for it.
moral of the story: 'tis best to ignore the troll. for it craves your attention like a child. look away and it's hate searches elsewhere.

sort of like people who spam yahoo! with hate and other crap.

They are disgusting little creatures who spout hate and racist and filth. Usually flustrated little boys who are sexually flustrated.
