Sunday 1/7/07 on CMT - the movie Broken Bridges was on. Who Died?

I got a phone call just as the show started and I realize that a soldier died but I can't get it straight if it was Toby Keith's brother of Kelly Preston's brother. They both kept talking about losing a brother but these two had a kid together. Please help me understand the beginning of this movie.

Toby Keiths and Kelly Prestons brothers both died. They were in the same unit and they were both killed during a mission.

There were 5 soldiers killed from the same town. Awesome movie, cried like a baby.
