So I started making one movie, but then I got bored with it, so I'm making another one. So I want some of the clips from my first movie to go onto my second, but the hard disk space is full, and so it wont let me transfer them. And I don't want to just delete my first movie because I want to continue it some time in the future... basically, my question is, is it possible to transfer clips when there's no hard disk space left? And if it's not, how do I get space back (I know you delete clips, but do you have to delete them from the actual timeline or can it just be from the little clip... area)? Any ideas?

Hello fadedphantom,

Video takes an awful lot of hard drive space, as you've found out. The video clips are physical files that take up space.

You might need copy over some of your other files over to a CD-R, DVD-R, or external hard drive. You might have to pick and choose between favorite games, iTunes songs, and those video clips. Sorry.

I wish you the best of luck in your clean-up.

To clear up some space on your hard drive delete apps you don't need, log files, caches and languages files.
Onyx can delete logs and caches, among other things and Monolingual can delete unneeded language files, iTunes alone has 20 MB worth, just don't choose English for deletion. If you do, you will need to install OS X and thereby lose all your files.
Another possible app to use is Tidy Up! It will locate duplicate files and if you choose, delete them.
Also your hard drive must have atleast 15% free space for OS X to run smoothly.
Sorry, I don't have an answer for your iMovie question. You can get better feedback at Apple's Support Discussion forum under iLife > iMovie.
