There is a saying that goes like this . . .

"Idle mind is the dwelling place of the devil"

So, occupy your mind with happy and positive thoughts.

And, when the negative ones start to creep in, say to yourself . . STOP!!! . . . I'm not letting you control me!!! . . . NO WAY!!!

Then, say a little prayer, and give thanks to God.

The negative thought will immediately cease.

That's how I do it. With success, all the time!

It depends on the environment you are in where you are having bad thoughts. If you are driving, I always try to take deep breaths and remember the people you love and that bad thoughts are pointless. Also try counting down from 10-1 and just calm yourself by taking you mind off the bad thoughts.

I journal about all my bad thoughts and write them all down. If I'm obsessing about a problem or how someone made me angry then I write down all those bad feelings and come up with all the possible solutions to the problem until I've got all the feelings down. Then, when I start to go over the bad stuff in my head again I stop myself and say, "no need to go through this again, I've got it all written down..." then I can relax! It really works well for me.

I have two ways. One is when I think of my grandchildren. It immediately brings a smile to my face and peaceful happy thoughts.

The second way is to think of my husband and me on our sailboat anchored in some quiet spot in the evening watching the sun set into the Gulf of Mexico or somewhere else just as inviting.

Generally I change my surroundings and either talk to someone or start remembering fun things or do a sudoku or something

clear ur mind... try to relax in a while (enjoy life to the fullest)... and most importantly, try to think positively (think that you could do it at the first glance)...

fill your mind with positive things by doing or watching positive things. so, watching positive movies, or playing sports, or, spending time with kids, or animals or something.
