JENNIFER HUDSON HAS A BEAUTIFUL VOICE IN MY OPINION. I WANt TO KNOW IF OTHERS FEEL THAT SHE DESERVES KUDOS FOR HER PERFORMANCE IN DREAM GIRLS. ESPECIALLY WHEN SHE SANG " AND I AM TELLING YOU" TO JAMIE FOX.

First off, let me start by saying that Jennifer HUdson is beautiful, talented, and one of the greatest vocalists of our day. In my theatre, and everyone else that i've asked's theatres, after she sang "And I Am Telling You, the audience burst into unprovoked applause.
However, Beyonce did a great job too. So many people hate on Beyonce on a regular basis because she's an established artist, and is extremely attractive. Yeah Jennifer Hudson did a great job in the movie, but i don't think that diminishing the significance of Beyonce's performance in order to commend Jennifer Hudson's is unfair. Both did a great job, but when you think about it there is no actress in the music industry today who could have played the role of Deena Jones like Beyonce. There are so many paralells between the too, and Beyonce was outstanding. Especially in "Listen".
I have to admit though, Jen Hud outSANG Beyonce, there's no comparison in that catagorey. (Listen has nothing on And I Am Telling You. I listen to And I Am not just because it's a good song, but because i love her voice. But as far as acting is concerned, i think that B and Jennifer are not in competition with eachother, so they don't need to be compared to one another. They both helped to make Dreamgirls one of the best films of our day! (Eddie too)

I think that Jenniffer Hudson placed her first foosteps into superstardom with this film! For this to be her first acting role and to have to walk into the steps of the great Jenniffer Holiday is a major acievment of its own. Anyone who has ever seen the Original on Broadway will never forget Holidays performance and she will always be one of the great Broadway Divas. But Hudson took on this role not to copy Holiday but to play Effie in her own way and she did a Fantastic job! She has earned her own special place in the world of DREAMGIRLS and should win the Oscar. Beyonce, on the other hand also did a fine job. People seem to think that she only really shined on "Listen". But you must remember that in order to play the part of Deena she had to "tone down" her own performance. I think it is because of that that most people think Hudson outshined Beyonce. Though Jennifer Hudson will probably be the more rememerable performance you have to give Beyonce a thumbs up on her performance as well.

For one thing I never respected Beyonce as an actress. She always chooses a movie that allows her to sing in it. So that just tells you that she ain't good of an actress. I truly think that Jennifer Hudson didn't steal the show away from Beyonce. Beyonce crossed over to acting and she yet has shown me any talent. Jennifer Hudson has crossed over and has shown talent.

I think she definitely did. I also think that when it comes to singing Jennifer Hudson can outdo Beyonce any day of the week.
Maybe if Beyonce spent less time dieting and more time working on her acting, she'd be able to compete.

I didn't see the movie, but my sister did, and that's all she could talk about. It really bothered her that Beyonce got so much credit, even though Hudson was so much better.

Beyonce Knowles was only a supporting role. I heard the movie was fantastic. It's about time a great movie came out.

i feel that she definately outperformed beyonce. if you pay attention to the story line, the movie is mainly about Effie which is played by Jennifer so i really think she shined way more than beyonce

I agree with you that she out performed Beyonce but the one that out performed both of them is Eddie Murphy. He blew me away!

She outperformed them all in my opinion, and yes she deserves the recognition she is receiving for her Dreamgirl's performance.
