how does receiving payment with paypal work?

i'm selling an item on ebay and i chose to use paypal... all i did was enter my debit card number. how will i get the money? it will add to my debit card balance? or go through my bank account even though all i gave was my mastercard info?

If you have your bank account tied into your Paypal account. You will have to log into Paypal and transfer funds from your Paypal to your bank account. Paypal will not do it automatically, as they like holding your money for instant purchase payment.

I believe you may be able to setup auto deposit in your bank account for future transactions.

Also don't expect this to happen instantly, as I think it takes them 3 days to do this.
