that supported Bush without oversight? and decided that the 9/11 commission report wasn't worth following the problem all along?. By the vote, it suggests that the many of the rank and file Republicans actually voted their conscience and might actually be using their own hearts and aren't being bullied. Is there a return to the old days when partisanship was the not the norm? Also, by the vote, it suggests that a legitiamte oversight is possible, because the Democrats do not hold a overwhelming majority and must do things in a way that doesn't upset the conservative point of view (wow! cooperation with the people in mind). I really don't think Bush will be impeached, but do you believe the time of reckoning is at hand?

I think America may be better for "enduring" the last 10 years...and that we are maturing in a halting sort of way

Id save the praise until it is proven that it is a good thing. Doing something just to do it without thinking the thing threw is a trademark of dem congresses.

"Several Republicans criticized the legislation as little more than political posturing in the early hours of a new Democratic-controlled Congress. Democrats want to "look aggressive on homeland security. This bill will waste billions of dollars, and possibly harm homeland security by gumming up progress already under way," said Rep. Hal Rogers, R-Ky."

Democrats have pledged to make fiscal responsibility a priority in the new Congress, but they advanced the bill — their first of the year — without even a bare-bones accounting of the estimated cost. The funding will require follow-up legislation

You know Im sort of glad the republicans lost control of both houses of congress because I know that most of the democratic party are crybabies when they lose and have shown this since 2000. Also it'll be nice to see them actually do something instead of opposing doing something.

I don't know how all that homeland security precisely works, but i hope they made the right decision, and didn't do it for publicity

oh, you should not praise a politician for making a choice based on his feelings. That is just not a good choice then
