Great Britain is the largest island of the British Isles.

Politically, Great Britain describes the combination of England, Scotland, and Wales. It includes outlying islands such as the Isle of Wight, Anglesey, the Isles of Scilly, the Hebrides, and the island groups of Orkney and Shetland, but does not include the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands.

In everyday speech and non-official writing in all English-speaking and most other countries, "Great Britain", and simply "Britain", are much more commonly used than "United Kingdom" to designate the sovereign state officially known as the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

What exactually do want to know here? England is England, Wales is Wales and Scotland is Scotland. King Edward said in order to subdue the Welsh - or something like this - "My heir will be a prince born in Wales and speak no word of English" well that's the legend. The Welsh thinking that a Welsh prince would take the crown were ready to calm the resistance down of course no baby could speak any language when born....King E heir just happen to be born in Wales!
England never concured Scotland, and not for want of trying! The Scottish Lairds or Lords invested wholeheartedly in the "New worlds" ie they bought and colonized an island important for Spanish etc ie the est. nations and ships would dock on their fair island for the new world had no natural harbour and yet this isle seemed to be perfect for large ships and small dingies alike. However it proved to be disease ridden virtually all Scots died and a great many sailors too. Thus The Lairds on the verge of bankruptcy sold Sotland to England and therefore the UNION ie Briton was born aka Great Britain.
The UK best left for another time.
