My husband and I are going to be in San Diego for 3 days in late January. Does anyone have any good ideas for things to see and do? Looking for something a little out of the ordinary. We have plans for SeaWorld already, but looking for other things also. We like outdoorsy/nature/historical/sightseeing type activities.

Also any suggestions on restaurants would be appreciated.

I had stayed in San Diego, last week of January last year until April. I was contemplating to live there but changed my mine.

I had bought 2 maps prior to going there! However, both were incomplete. I bought a 3rd one, which was more complete however, you need a magnifying lens to appreciate it.

I only appreciated San Diego when I rode the trolley. Ride all trolleys, there are bus stations in most station. From there you can hop from one station to the next and explore what is around.

Go to the last American exit in San Ysidro. There is an outlet store there. See the Coronado bridge which is one of the tallest in the world. Did you know that it won an award because of its structure? You will see a breathtaking view of the surrounding. Visit Hotel del Coronado which is one of the most beautiful hotels not only in the USA but also in the world. Oceanside has also a nice view. Harbor area has also a nice view. I had appreciated it well when my cousin checked in at Mariott Hotel. The room they chosed really has a spectacular view of the surrounding.

Go to the theme parks on time. There are shows at the Sea World. Dont forget to get the schedule at the entrance. You will be able to get a cheaper ticket when you visit Sea World, Wild Animal Park and San Diego Zoo. Check if they still have the offer. Buy bottomless drinks in these parks which you can refill the whole day and which will also serve as a souvenir.

Be sure to go to Balboa Park to. Check first its website and chose the areas you want to visit. There are parks & museums there.

Visit yahoo travel and you will see slideshow of San Diego. There are also the top 10 attractions of San Diego at the bottom of the page, they have the address, websites, schedules.

Gas lamp Quarter is the historical side of San Diego.

You must visit Mission Trails Park. It is located within the city limits of San Diego. It has miles and miles of nature trails - no cars, no noise but the stream and the birds. Many of the trails are flat and easy to walk, some are more challenging. You will not believe that you are in the city of San Diego, or any city for that matter. It has a small dam built by the Digueno Indians for the Spanish a couple of centuries ago. It also has a beautiful building at the entrance where you can survey much of the park and enjoy a decent number of interesting exhibits. Check it out at www.mtrp.org/.

common, i imagine you should stay in San Diego. San Diego is a huge city that could want to take some days to be certain. you would possibly want to favor to purely be particular you spot the inn del coronado and walk round down city coronado, the gas lamp district, project coastline, pacific coastline, previous city, the dangle gliding port and Balboa park that's 1/2 museums and 1/2 zoo. (in case you do not something else in balboa park - walk by prom the position each and each and every of the museums are outfitted round.) San Diego is so massive - you somewhat might want to be demanding pressed to do it justice with purely 2 days. Tijuana is an recommendations-blowing position. Their are tremendous finding out to purchase deals and plenty and loads of exciting bars. however that's risky and also you want to be particular that you shuttle in numbers. because you're foreigners i'd not flow with any less than 4 or 5 human beings. Stick mutually. in case you honestly ought to be certain Mexico and also you've were given countless human beings - then flow for it. you'll ought to comprehend that TJ is a border city and various stuff is going on there. 20 miles inland and the human beings are much better civil. perchance you'd be better off finding out on a city like Cabo San Lucas, Puerta Vaillarta or Mazatlan. Spend time there once you could precise do it justice and then not problem about the politics of a often times not uncomplicated border city. solid success

Balboa Park is a great place to see, there are lots of museums and an IMAX theatre, it is also right next to the San Diego Zoo.

You can rent some bikes down by the beach and Mission Bay park has several miles of paved pathways that go all the way around the bay, and there is also a boardwalk that is about 2 miles long.

For dining I would recommend just going downtown to the Gaslamp Quarter, there are literally dozens of bars and restaurants to choose from, with cuisines from around the world.

I lived there a while back and my favorite place was always the San Diego Wild Animal Park. A nice short hike at Torrey Pines in La Jolla puts you close enough to visit a beach or two in the area. Balboa Park has the museums.

The San Diego Zoo (arguably the best in the world) is a must. Balboa Park is also beautiful.

I would recommend Torrey Pines for hiking with ocean views. If the weather is good, dine outdoors on the terrace at Georges at the Cove in LaJolla. This is a great place to watch the sunset.

Drive to the top of Mt. Soledad for another great sunset view of the city and coastline. For directions on how to get to the top of Mt. Soledad and other ideas on things to do in San Diego, go to: http://www.sandiego-romantics.com

Have a great trip.
