Ray manzarek on the keyboards - what's weird is I opened up this question and 5 seconds later Roadhouse Blues started up on the radio - (insert Twilight Zone DO DO DOs here)...

Ray Manzarek played the keyboards.
They actually used one of the keyboards for bass lines.
Some session guy helped once in a while

They had various studio musicians, and no steady band member. Ray Manzarek played lots of bass with his feet, on the foot-keyboard.

P.S.
No such thing as "base guitar" - it's spelled "bass guitar."

Jerry Scheff played bass. At least on L.A. Woman

they didn't have a full time bass player...ray manzarek played keyboards and gave them the bassline there...but for albums and occassionally they used jerry scheff

they didnt have a BASS player...the keyboard player did it
