If I want to change the time I normally take the pill, do I just go ahead and switch it and just keep it at that same time daily?

The best time to switch is when you start the first active pills after taking the reminder pills - just start at the time you want to.
If you are taking one that says you can take it up to 12 hours late without it counting as a missed pill, you can change it by three hours each day. If you do it by much more than that, you might end up with breakthrough bleeding.

I was told by my doctor that you should...each day change it by one hour...until you reach the desired time and then keep it consistent. If you just change it by a bunch of hours, it will increase the possibility of getting pregnant.

That's what I did when I switched mine. Just make sure you continue to take it regularly when you do switch it. It didn't cause me any trouble.
