The other day I was sitting outside school with a few people some friends/some not. I was sketching a picture of Kurt Cobain, and it had his name at the top, a girl wearing a Nirvana a shirt comes up to me and says "Who is Kurt Cobain?" WTF is this world coming to? Newayz my qeustion is how often do run into people waring band shirts, and know nothing about the band, this is the first time I've come acrossed it, and it really urks my nerves.

That's pretty weird. some people just buy shirts because they like how they look, or buy band shirts because they know the music, but don't know the names of any of the musicians. That's retarded in my book.

I remember reading an article about how Rivers Cuomo, when he went to Harvard, would walk around campus and people would be wearing Weezer T-Shirts but not recognize him. THAT is pretty messed up...

Hell yeah you should expect young people to know whose shirt they're wearing. There are always those posers who don't even know what the music sounds like and just buy the shirt cause they know it's cool, and you can't avoid that... but really, if you're trying to be into music, LISTEN to the music and know where it's coming from, please.

I completely agree..you can't wear a band shirt...especially of a band that was so influential and original in the music scene and not even know who the singer was..

duude, mines to. i always want to go and smack them right up there damn faces for that. there posers, trying to fit in, buying band shirts cause alot of other ppl have them, etc etc etc. there really turning the music, the GOOD amazing music, such as nirvana, into a commercialized product, and up onto the bandwagon for everyone.

i mean...seirously...at least do some research if your gona wear a band t-shirt as big, and awesome, and had so much affect on rock music as nirvana.....jesus sakes.i have no IDEA what the world's coming to.

most likely half the population will turn into superficial, concieted, posers.

wait....

its already like that....

haha, report this for all the uptight ppl who takes offense to this. its the truth.

personally ive noticed a spike in band shirts being popular as of recently for the sake of being stylish, something many people who truly are into real music do not do. one wears it in support, not to look good. unfortunately i see many people wearing led zeppelin who know nothing about it. i agree with you, it stinks.

Being cool is more important to some people than understanding why they're trying to be cool...if they don't know the band, screw 'em.

ya, that sucks. but Kurt (even though he was great) was in the 90's. you can't really expect the young kids to know much about him...
