I think the person you want to know about is Jon-Erik Hexum. He played on a show called Cover Up. The show was about a pair of fashion photographers/models who were actually secret agents. The shooting was accidental, he was playing around on the set with a gun that had blanks in it. His doctor pronounced him brain dead 6 days later and he was taken off life support. So sad...

Around 1986? I think it may have been Jon Erik Hexum. Yes, it was. I just looked up his name on IMDB. It was in 1984 on the set of a TV show.

Yes it was Jon-Erik, I remember when that happened, and I was only about 10...I remember the theme song of the show was, "I Need A Hero."
He was playing Russian Roullette and he shot himself accidentally.
