The more money they get ,the less they TEACH!Dont you read the newspapers , listen to the news, the children in the public schools are considered very low in tests compared to the japanese, European and chinese children? This will affect the United States very strongly as there is no room for illeterates in the modern world, the children are being thaught that all is all right and there are no consequences for their actions, whatever these might be! Talk of God is taboo! ,But the perversion of sex, homosexuality, abortion, killings and the magic pills of the rich drug companies in cahoots with the schools is enough for a bred in terror!More money? To be spend on the throwdown of life as we know it , the public schools are passing children on , whether they read or not, and by the time these kids get to middle school , they drop out ,since they cannot get it eh?, there comes the gangs ,as there is nada to do eh? And I believe this country can implement a strong policy to the teaching of our youths! It can put the responsability where it belongs ,at the schools level! The schools that can prove they are teaching the basics, the children are learning , the community is content should get the monies , to teach more, but mediocre schools need to come to terms or be let out! There is little time, and if not corrected we will soon see the consequences. First teach the teachers, get the certified so they in turn can TEach! Also the teachers at schools that care and teach must get big raises! After all is OUR future we are concerned about.

Every gun that's made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies a theft from those who hunger and are not fed and those cold and not clothed.
This world in arms is not spending money alone.
It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children.
The cost of one modern heavy bomber is this: a modern brick school in more than 30 cities.
It is two electric power plants, each serving a town of 60,000 population.
It is two fine, fully equipped hospitals.
It is some 50 miles of concrete highway.
We pay for a single fighter with a half million bushels of wheat.
We pay for a single destroyer with new homes that could have housed more than 8,000 people.
This, I repeat, is the best way of life to be found on the road the world has been taking.
This is not a way of life at all, in any true sense. Under the cloud of threatening war, it is humanity hanging from a cross of iron.
- Dwight D. Eisenhower
Amen...

I thank God for the B-17s that dropped the bombs on Hitlers Germany so your kids wouldn't be heiling Hitler right now.
I thank God for the B-27 Strattofortress that dropped the atomic bombs on Japan so your children would even be born today. The US would have had a 1,000,000 estimated casualties had we had to invade the Japanese mainland.
And I thank God for the B-52s that deterred the former Soviet Union for so long. Your kids could have been speaking Russian had it not been for them.
I thank God for not only all these bombers but the crews and infantryman that stand and have stood the duty for so long so that your children can even go to a school that teaches real stuff and not propaganda.
History taught our kids in our schools should indicate that freedom isn't free and someone's dad, brother, husband, son has paid the ultimate sacrifice for all the freedoms we enjoy, including our education.
If it came down to buying a bomber or funding a school, then buy the bomber. After all, I home schooled my kids and they are PhDs now!!!! The government don't have to do everything.

schools would waste even more money? People were better educated back in the day not because they lacked technology or pens. People were better educated because their parents cared, the teachers cared, and the culture demanded and respected discipline and education. You can put as much money as you want into a school system, but if the kids have no discipline, attention span, or desire, how are they gonna get educated? You're an absolute fool.

What? Cuban missile crisis? Communism was a movement . If we were not militarily superior they would still be a threat. We need a strong military more now than ever. The public education system is screwed because of 1 the teachers union 2 Liberal teachers pushing the crap you are selling instead of important education. We spend 8,000 bucks per child per year on a third rate education. We should give out vouchers and let free enterprise start schools . That would make the education system better and cheaper.

Public schools get more money in the US than in any country. And they have little to show for it. I think it is time to get government out of the schools. I believe that we should have a separation of school and state.
Competition breeds excellence. Why do you think so many parents pay to send their kids to parochial and private schools, or home school? Obviously, they are disgusted with the schools. Giving them more money is just throwing good money after bad.

It would be a greater day if the public schools would give us high school graduates that can read their own diplomas and could write a five word sentence without misspelling 3 of the 5 words.

We keep pouring more and more money into the schools and nothing changes. If it weren't such a "safe" job for teachers and people had a choice where to send their kids (vouchers) competition would drive schools to do better.
