Ok I'm selling a textbook on ebay and I've never done this before. I'm only accepting paypal. What happens if the auction ends and the highest bidder doesn't have paypal and didn't plan on paying that way? What do I do?

When you make the listing you have options of what type payment you will accept. PayPal is the safest. You can specify PayPal only. If someone bids anyhow and doesn't have PayPal, it's up to you to reject the bid or accept it and make other arrangements.

I've been selling on ebay for a little over 2 years and I still remember how hard it was just starting out. You can get a free ebay success kit that has everything you need to get started right at: http://smart-money-help.com/free-ebay-kit . The information in that kit will answer every question you have...and a lot more. I highly recommend you get it before you get too far into the ebay thing.

Contact the bidder and ask them to set up the free account. make sure you clearly state paypal only.

And if it sells to someone that doesn't use paypal and then won't set up a paypal account, you can ask ebay to relist it for free.
