I live in San Diego and want to get away with my boyfriend for a weekend. I just want to go somewhere where we can relax; somewhere where there are interesting places to visit. Nothing expensive though.

Live Oak Springs Romantic Mountain Getaway. I've been here a few times. Very quiet and relaxing. Jacuzzis in the rooms.

If you enjoy wine tasting, you might think of going to Julian or Temecula. Most wineries have free wine tasting in Julian, but many in Temecula charge between $3-10. You and your boyfriend can share a tasting. This is fairly common practice actually.
There are free wine tasting coupons available online for some of the Temecula wineries.
