heres the guideline:
~Devise a speech presesntation, the purpose of which is to help us remember your first name. Employ virtually any device(s) you can think of to give IMPACT(high memory retention value). Elemts able to be used inclue-idea/approach, script, props, visual aids, costume, audio aid, movement, audience participation, etc used to enhance name recall. The intro should arrest attention. No projectors can be used, or lous nosies for impact, and no negative association.

One example of a previous student's name was Ashley, and she created "Ashville" like the set up of a town, with her family in the middle, a church building, school, etc.

My name is Colleen. Have any ideas?

lean up against it
(arms folded, feet crossed)
"you may wonder why i'm leaning up against this picture of the leaning tower of pisa...
well...it's to get you all leaning in the right direction...of remembering my name: colleen"

(pick up a picture/drawing of a "girl"
and tape it next to the leaning tower)

"colleen is an irish name
it means: "girl"...
and here is a girl
--who also happens to be named colleen--
visiting the leaning tower of pisa
...which is in italy...
colleen likes visiting italy a lot.
colleen likes their fashions and their food...

three of her favorite italian designer labels are:
dolce & gabbana, prada and giorgio armani"

(put up of collage poster of various collars from those three designers)

"colleen particularly likes how these designers make collars on their garments...she likes collars so much, because it reminds her of her name...colleen...which i hope you are all leaning more towards remembering..."

"as i mentioned, colleen also likes italian food...
especially the things made by using a collander..."
(put a collander on desk in front of you)

"colleen likes collanders because the word collander reminds her of the most beautiful name in the world: colleen...
pasta dishes are made using a collander...
but, truthfully, pasta isn't as irish as....
(pull out a big raw potato and hold up to audience)
" potatoes! ...an irish favorite...and remember colleen is the irish word for girl...and, potatoes can be easily drained in a collander....
(hold up collander and show to audience)
collander...which reminds colleen of her name...which is irish for girl...a girl who likes to wear designer collars"
(point to poster of collars)

"especially when she's traveling to leaning things...like towers..."
(lean back up against the pic. of the leaning tower of pisa and fold arms)

"wait, one more thing...everybody stand up a minute"
(everyone in class stands up)
"hold on to your collar...like this"
(grab your own collar, and wait for everyone to do same)
"now....lean....over..."
(everybody laughs, and leans to side...while still holding collar....you do it too, as they are doing it...)
"and repeat after me...COLLEEN!"
(they lean and chant)
"thank you very much"
--do a collar grab...

--put a little paper collar on your potato
maybe some yarn hair like a girl
draw face on it...markers or button eyes & lipstick
--at the end of your speech, put the potato colleen down on desk....it'll tip over...lean it up against something and say: "maybe i'll just LEAN it...."

Why don't you start with your name and its meaning...I think colleen is Irish for girl...is there something you could do that is really girly that would allow people to remember you by??? -

Maybe have a barbie doll named colleen with all pink on and girly girl things and accessories for it that would let people understand the meaning and therefore help remember your name...
-Do a coat of arms for your name with things that are important to you and your family
-Dress up as a character and do a monologue about yourself or a specific instance that was really important to you as a person
-Write a song about yourself...something catchy like a rap or something that others will enjoy and get into wtih a chorus for participation
-Do a gameshow or something that students have to identify the famous colleen...(ie. voice of a cartoon character or something)

Sorry not the best answer I am sure but maybe a starting place. Good luck!
